Application Guidelines

Conditions:

1. The employer must be a Hong Kong resident.
2. The helper and the employer must sign a standard employment contract (ID407).
3. The helper is not allowed to provide employment services for others during their stay in Hong Kong.
4. The employer and the domestic helper should not have known bad records.
5. Employers are required to provide Income proof and address proof.

Helper Salary

Starting from September 30, 2023, the minimum wage standard for helpers is HKD 4,990 per month. Employers are not allowed to pay a salary lower than HKD 4,870 for any reason and must ensure paid on time.

Accommodation and Meal Arrangements

Meals Arrangements

  • Employers must provide free meals to helpers.
  • If meals are not provided, employers need to pay a minimum food allowance of HKD 1,236 per month.

Accommodation Arrangements:

  • Employers are responsible for providing free and appropriate accommodation for helpers.
  • The scope of work for the helper is limited to housework. The work location can only be the address specified in the contract.
